for the Route du Nord art route I placed my Portret cabin at Rotabs Stylecenter, a creative marketspace in the North of Rotterdam. I spent the weekend drawing visitors and had a great time!

this is a shoulderbag with long strap, it rests on your hip when you wear it, and then the hair reaches to your knees...

I made the portrait cabin as a drawing installation to use on location. There is a camera lucida installation inside that makes a reflection of the model on your paper, so you can draw very fast. The model has to sit in the cabin for 1 or 2 minutes, and in this short time the portrait has to be made. Drawing fast results in very loose drawings but at the same time they have a good resemblance of the model.

manimal works

visited the studio of Manimalworks in Rotterdam this week to learn something about moldmaking. lots of beautiful animals and human figures standing around, both finished as well as still under construction. when i wanted to take some photo's found that although my camera was in my bag, I forgot that the card was still in my computer at home, so these photo's are taken with my phone (hence the quality)

printed a shirt with funny sounding expression I know from my husband, but that was invented by a dutch football coach. 'hotseknotse Begonia' Linoprinted it on the shirt
I don't have a decent english translation for it, but it means as much as doing something in a boorish, sloppy uninterested way.
